Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 in an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi, an Romanian gymnastics instructor, who was later Comaneci's coach, first discovered Comaneci at the age of six. Her first competition was in The National Junior Championships which she finished 13th in the year 1969. In the year 1970, she won. In 1972, during an event for communist-controlled countries' junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and '74 she was the all-around junior champ. In her very first competition in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva of Russia won five gold medals, as well being awarded a silver. The year was 1976 when she won the American Cup at the New York City Olympics and was the first female in history to dismount the parallel bars with the double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment business as a performer as figure skater. With her brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol was a part of the entertainment business in her teens. Early on, Carol began as a figure skater for traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows were skaters who were accompanied by theatrical music.
